FASHION NEWS: Harry Potter’s Alexander McQueen Dress Controversy

Harry Potter movies aren’t usually in the top of fashion news, but a bit of a controversy has started over the fashion in the upcoming film, Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows: Part One.Pictures have surfaced from Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour’s magician wedding in the upcoming movie. In the images, fashion darling Clemence Posey (who plays Fleur) wears a stunning wedding dress which fashion bloggers in the UK say is a little too close to an Alexander McQueen design for comfort. The dress is a full organza gown with black lace design of a pair of phoenixes overlaid on it with the heads facing in to create a heart shape. It bear a striking resemblance to a dress from Alexander McQueen’s Fall/Winter 2008 line.Harry Potter designer, Jany Temime, hasn’t commented on the speculation that the dress is a rip off of the McQueen dress yet. The team at Alexander McQueen isn’t speaking out either. See the pictures above from blogger who broke the story. We’ll be waiting to see if this blows up into something more.
